Artist's Comments

The amazing Mr. Donny Vomit [link] from the Coney Island Sideshow.
Also inspired by the works of Joe Coleman. [link])

Acrylic on wood, 19.5x19.5 cms [link]
Took me about 36 hours to complete, including sketching.

Edit
First off, I saw this hit front page on Sheezyart for a short while, so thanks guys. :)

Second of all, Donny Vomit's comments on this piece:
"Wow, That is great! I wish my stache was that perfect!"

"The face of an angel, the eyes of a devil and a stache to rule the world."

One of your strongest and most creative pieces in a while.
I feel the combination of technique and approach with subject matter is perfect. An obscure presentation for an obscure, different and somewhat misunderstood people. Reading your commentary on the sideshow was very invigorating, you could see this was a very stimulating subject for you artistically and the piece reflects this frighteningly well.
Not to mention, it lacks your usual style and approach to facial and body details- which just makes it better as you have encompassed this 'different' style so well from the off.

Incredibly well done! :D

Coffee? Pencils? Music on my Zen? You know what this means?- Art! (And one happy Moggie. xD)

 I always like getting your comments, Mog.
Yeah, one of my philosophies about art is, it ain't 'style' if you don't choose it. I mean, what I'm saying is: take a look at Picasso i.e. He had the capability ro draw amazingly realistic portraits, but he CHOSE to draw Cubism. So what I'm saying is, it's not 'style' if that the way you draw just because you don't know any better. It IS style if you CAN draw better and CHOSE to draw it in a certain way to make a point.

I always like looking at your art to leave them. : )
And I agree, quite a lot actually. I feel that a lot of the time when doing requests for people I choose which is the most appropriate way, not necessarily the best, and it often works out better because a piece can gain a whole new edge just because of technique. Also, for the 'simpler' styles of art I also agree that you cannot really judge it on face value, it's the concept and the complexity of the base sketches that count.
See this is why I like "talking art" with you, you have this wonderful idea of what makes a good piece outside of just the simple aspects.
